What this site does

This site doesn’t use advertising trackers, Meta pixels, or session recording. We use first-party analytics only, to see which pages people find useful.

We use a contact form rather than publishing an email address, because a form leaves less of a trail on a shared device.

We don’t embed social media feeds, because those load tracking code from other companies.

What we collect when you visit

Our analytics record which pages get visited, when, and roughly where visitors come from. They don’t tell us who you are, and we don’t try to find out. We don’t use advertising cookies.

If you fill in the contact form, we get what you typed and when you sent it. Waypost staff read it, and it’s stored with our website provider. We keep it only as long as we need it to respond.

Donations

Gifts made through this site go through Zeffy, a payment service for nonprofits. Zeffy handles your payment details; we never see your card number. We get your name, your contact details, and the amount, so we can thank you and send a receipt. We don’t sell, rent, or trade donor information.

What we do with what you tell us

What you share with an advocate stays with us. We don’t sell it, share it with other organizations, or give it to police or courts without your say-so.

Two things we’re required by law to report: a child being abused or neglected, and a serious threat to someone’s life. We’ll tell you before we do anything.

You can ask what information we have about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it. Call the office at (605) 665-4811 or email info@waypostsd.org.

Children and teens

This site is for anyone, including teens looking for information. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site. If you’re worried about a child, call the 24/7 Help Line at (605) 665-1448.

The Exit button

The Exit button on every page takes you to another website quickly. It doesn’t erase your browsing history or hide this visit from someone who checks your device. For how to cover your tracks, see Tech & Online Safety.

Other sites we link to

We link to hotlines, shelters, and services run by other organizations. Once you’re on their site, their privacy rules apply, not ours.

Changes to this page

We may update this page. The date at the top tells you when. If we change how we handle what you tell us, we’ll say so here.

Accessibility

We’re building this site to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. That means it should work with a screen reader, with a keyboard, at large text sizes, and without relying on colour alone.

If something here doesn’t work for you, tell us and we’ll fix it: (605) 665-4811 or info@waypostsd.org.
